Joanne is a Consultant at Volterra with a track record of supporting both private and public sector bodies in developing evidence-based strategies, and a compelling case for growth. She has delivered sectoral analysis and strategic planning support for a number of local authorities, helping them to understand their economic strengths, priorities and opportunities for growth.
Joanne has also authored the economic support and analysis for major commercial and residential schemes across the UK, producing a range of reports including Economic Statements, Health and Equality Impact Statements, Socio-economic and Health EIA chapters. Her experience spans several established frameworks such as the IEMA guidance, WHIASU and HUDU. Joanne has previously supported and successfully helped secure planning permission for developments such as the purpose-built student accommodation at Albert Embankment, office development at 1 Hannover Square, and a storage-led development at Meadow Works.
In particular, Joanne has evaluated the economic cases for specific sites such as the Wellesbourne Airfield, and Lignacite Nazeing in order to advise planning departments on the need for proposed floorspaces. This has included the successful Lignacite Nazeing appeal, where permission was granted for development on land initially designated as Green Belt but successfully considered to constitute Grey Belt. Committed to using her expertise to contribute to Volterra, Joanne is excited to create positive change.
