Cycle to MIPIM

We’re incredibly proud of our Senior Partner Ellie Evans, who successfully completed the Knight Frank Cycle to MIPIM in March with Club Peloton! Over six days, Ellie cycled an extraordinary 813km and climbed 8,333m from London to Cannes as part of a team relay – an immense personal and physical achievement.

The ride raises vital funds for Coram, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, and the Tom Ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust.

When I signed up to the Knight Frank cycle to MIPIM it was always going to be an amazing personal challenge. But what surprised me from the outset was the camaraderie and genuine team spirit that pervaded throughout. It took sheer personal grit and determination, but also amazing team work, to get us all to the end.

In six days I cycled 813km and climbed 8,333m as part of a team relay covering over 1,400km from London to Cannes.

And I enjoyed every minute of it… well, almost every minute (thank you Gareth Atkinson and Neo Combarro for pushing me up a few hills on a stage we never need mention again!)

It was brilliant riding with all of the Lockton team, and big thanks to our fabulous ride captains Neo Combarro, Serena Tennant (née Frisby), Richard Heath and James Morgan.

Thank you to my roommate Samantha McClary for the words of wisdom and putting up with my faffing – my gift in return is that you now know the game ‘yellow car’ – you’re welcome!

Thanks to everyone who *tried to give me advice on descending – knee up, elbow bent, bum back, brakes off, we do the Hokey Cokey and we slow right down… 😂

The support crew at Club Peloton are amazing – from the food, to the motos, to the massages, and even the enforced time keeping! I appreciated it all.

A huge shout out to the other women who did it. Heather Sargent, Serena Tennant (née Frisby), Hannah Williams, Louisa Treadwell, Laura Batty, Rhea Shepherd, Samantha McClary and Lizzy Hamshere. Each and every one of you is an inspiration.

Thanks to the people who helped me train and convinced me I would be able to do it – in particular David Johnston.

Rest up and get well soon Laurence Rogers and Paul Wheller.

And thank you to my corporate sponsors PRD, Publica and Momentum Transport Consultancy.
