Huntingdonshire’s Employment and Economic Needs Assessment forms an important part of the evidence base for the district’s Local Plan review. The assessment investigates the existing stock of employment-generating premises and allocations in the district to determine their suitability to support aspirations for housing and employment growth in future. Volterra applied a range of methodologies to forecast need across the key growth sectors, whilst also paying attention to the foundational businesses that underpin the economy and people’s everyday lives. The approach allowed us to capture how market signals showed demand for strategic scale growth above what a standard methodology might be able to capture.
