Volterra present at the House of Lords

Volterra were honoured to speak at the House of Lords last night, where Senior Partner Ellie Evans championed the success of Free Bikes schemes to policy leaders.

These initiatives provide free bikes, helmets, locks, cycling lessons and maintenance, helping people in underserved communities overcome the cost barrier to cycling. They open up access to jobs, training, greenspace and town centres, while improving health, wellbeing and community connection.

Volterra has led the national evaluation of the schemes over the past two years, finding over £12 of benefits for every £1 invested – a remarkable return on investment. At a time when public budgets are under pressure, these schemes show how low-cost, high-impact interventions can deliver lasting social change.

Partners: Sport England, The Active Wellbeing Society, Essex Pedal Power and Let’s Go Southall.
