We supported Regal in their application to deliver purpose built student accommodation (PBSA), communal facilities and public realm improvements on a site in Wembley, Brent. We established the need for PBSA by presenting arguments over the economic importance of higher education and university students, a growing demand for PBSA, a limited supply of PBSA and the benefits of the scheme in meeting student demand and freeing up traditional housing stock whilst not resulting in overconcentration. We also authored the health impact assessment for the scheme, laying out the health impacts for the general population as well as vulnerable groups in the area. The proposals were approved in 2023.
