We produced an economic assessment of the proposed development of Paddington Quarter, a site next to Paddington Station. The scheme would provide office and retail space in one 19 storey building ‘Paddington Cube’, retail and restaurant uses in a second, smaller building, 1.35 acres of public realm improvements with highly improved permeability around the site, and significant investment in transport infrastructure in the form of improved access to Paddington Station and a new Bakerloo Line ticket hall. Our analysis emphasised the vital importance of this type of development in accessible locations in order to support future economic growth. Paddington Cube was completed in 2024.
